Model LUGB Vortex Flowmeter
he LUGB Vortex Flowmeter is an advanced instrument designed for measuring the flow of various fluid media in industrial pipelines, including gas, liquid, and steam. It is characterized by low pressure loss and the absence of moving parts, ensuring high reliability and durability. The flowmeter utilizes a piezoelectric stress sensor, allowing it to operate efficiently within a temperature range of -20°C to 350°C. It supports both analog standard signal and digital pulse signal outputs, making it compatible with digital systems such as computers.
Measuring Principle
The LUGB Vortex Flowmeter operates based on the Kármán Vortex Street principle. When a cylindrical drag body (vortex generator) is placed perpendicularly in the fluid stream, vortices are alternately shed from its sides, creating a repeating pattern of swirling vortices downstream. The frequency of these vortices is directly proportional to the flow velocity of the medium.
As these vortices form, they create an alternating lift force perpendicular to the flow direction. This force is detected by the sensor, which measures the vortex frequency. The signal is then amplified and processed, allowing the transducer to output either:
- A pulse signal proportional to the flow velocity.
- A standard 4-20mA analog signal for integration with industrial control systems.
This technology makes the LUGB Vortex Flowmeter an accurate and reliable choice for various industrial applications.
